Beverage
Cannabis-infused drinks. Nanoemulsified products often act faster than solid edibles, but this varies by product.
- Onset
- 15–90 minutes
- Duration
- 4–6 hours
Many cannabis beverages use nanoemulsion to improve absorption, which can shorten onset relative to a solid edible. The degree varies substantially by manufacturer, and published pharmacokinetic data on specific commercial products is limited.
Treat the label onset as a claim rather than a guarantee, and dose as though it were an edible until you know how a specific product behaves for you.
Advantages
- • Often faster onset than solid edibles
- • Socially familiar format
- • Easy low doses
Trade-offs
- • Onset varies unpredictably by product
- • Easy to drink casually without tracking dose
- • Limited published pharmacokinetic data
Cautions
- • Do not combine with alcohol.
- • Track how many you have had — a beverage is easier to lose count of than a gummy.
Best suited to
- • Social settings as an alcohol alternative
- • Low-dose use
