Total THC

The calculated maximum THC available after decarboxylation, combining delta-9 THC with converted THCA. The number to compare between products.

Total THC is typically calculated as delta-9 THC plus 0.877 times THCA — the 0.877 accounts for the mass lost when the carboxyl group leaves.

Comparing the delta-9 figure alone between two flower products will mislead you, because most of the potential THC in fresh flower is still in acid form.

Also written as: total thc, thc total.
